Instructions for the submission of Abstracts for the second Symposium on Irrigation Neotropical

You will be accepted Abstracts drawn from the findings of scientific research or the dissemination of science with a theme of zooplankton in aquatic environments in the Neotropical region, which are clearly the results and make a conclusion about the topic under investigation. It will not be accepted for projects such as the summary. The scientific committee will decide on the cases.

Abstract:

The breaking of a dam, from Back, which was held in November 2015 in Brazil, and it resulted in the release of waste from the ore and the contamination of many of the aquatic ecosystems. Studies of a variety of functions enable you to have a better understanding of the impact of the entry of the waste on the environment, because of the traces of the functional influence on ecological processes. Because of the effects of the metal on the functional diversity of zooplankton are poorly understood, our aim is to verify the possible influence of the concentration of the metals, the richness (FRic), and evenness, functional (Lvef) of zooplankton in the different ecosystems of the Lower Rio Freshwater (rivers, lakes, and ponds). We tested the following hypotheses: (i) The FRic decreases as the concentration of the metal increases, and (ii), the Lvef increased with the concentration of the metal. For this reason, the rivers, the lakes have been monitored in the period from November 2018 to August 2021, and the species is classified in functional groups according to the features of the functional. In the course of the three years of monitoring, we found a negative correlation between FRic and the concentration of the metals in the water (Fe, Al, and Mn), showing that the ecological functions that are affected in the environment have been achieved. The Lvef showed positive correlation with the concentration of the metals, thus indicating that the mixing between the species of the same ecological functions. Therefore, even after three years, the break in the dam, although it is possible to note that the functionality of the zooplankton suffers from the negative impacts, and is characterized by a set of species that are well adapted to the present circumstances, but the play of ecological functions that are similar. For a better understanding of the environmental impacts caused by waste from the ore and on the functions of ecossistêmicas of zooplankton studies of research is needed for evaluating, for example, the diversity of β-functional environments are not affected.

Note:

At the time of the submission of the Abstract, the author can choose to show it in the form of a poster or oral. However, with the confirmation of your submission in the format of an oral will be subject to the outcome of the trial summary, as the statutory auditors will be able to suggest a change in the format of the presentation on the specifics of the job.

The criteria for the selection of papers to be presented at the event

As soon as they are received, and the abstracts will be evaluated by at least two anonymous peer reviewers of the Scientific Committee. In the case of a reviewer to approve the summary, and the other to deny it, the summary will be forwarded to a third reviewer. The reviewers are expected to return to the summary up to seven days. After the review, the authors will get a look similar to the following: (i) that is approved, (ii) will require changes; and (iii) is rejected by the system, and the e-mail account. Your comments about the summary, you will be required regardless of the decision.

The presentation in the poster session and oral

The first person who will be present at the time of submission of your work, if you have entered your resume to apply for the award for the best work for students. Co-authors will be able to present the work, but not to compete for the prizes. The poster will be fixed at the location shown in the schedule of the event until the middle of the day, so that you can be seen and read by other participants in the event, and retired at the end of the event.

Prizes for the best projects

Students registered for the event, and the first authors of abstracts will be able to compete for the prize of the best pieces on Zooplankton Neotropical. They will be carefully selected the best three works in each category (poster and oral sessions) for the award. The assessment will be made by the scientific committee in the event the reviewers, oh-doc) and the organizing committee. You will be taken into account: the originality (30%), that is global in scope of content (20%), appearance (20%), and a discussion of the work of the evaluators (30%). The changes in the ranking of the award is to follow the points from the above.
